7 Common Lies Women Tell

This is a sequel to the post 7 Common Lies Men Tell.  We know that women can be good liars too, sometimes even better than men. Women lie about the big and small stuff too, just as men do. Below are some of the lies women tell.
I’m 23 years old!
Lying about our age is one of the lies told most often by women.  This is because we are well aware of the fact that men tend to be attracted to younger women.  I once knew of a woman who was 35 and lied to her boyfriend that she was 28 years old.  That’s seven years off her real age. I kid you not!

I’ve been with only three guys.
Most women are not honest about the number of men we have slept with.  We do not want to be seen as sluts, so they lie when we are asked.  We also know that if they tell a man they have slept with more men than he is comfortable with, he will just want to have sex with us and leave. Some of us even say we are still virgin after having 3 kids… How?

How Long is Too Long in a Relationship?

I know couples who dated for over a decade and got married to each other. I know couples who dated for over a decade and did not get married to each other. The difference lies in the persons involved so no one can really tell you how long is too long for a relationship to stay in the dating phase without moving on to the next level. Rarely does a man move the relationship forward and sisters often find themselves edging the relationship inch by inch towards marriage with the man a little less than the unwilling accomplice.

What is African Time?

I wanted to touch on a very sensitive and controversial issue. Africans alike know it as African time, Caribbeans know it as Black People Time and I’ve heard Indians refer to it as Indian time. All the terms are a nice way to refer to the fact the we as Africans and Black people in general are intentionally late for events and have an overly relaxed attitude to punctuality.
It’s such a legitimate term it has its own dedicated Wikipedia page! “

5 Honest Reasons He Has Not Proposed To You....

It is the dream of many women to get married.  This is why they learn homemaking skills, look nice, try to be well-behaved so they can land a man and lure him into the snare or holy matrimony. Unfortunately, this does not work for all ladies as we all know.  Men are naturally wary of getting married so they need a special incentive to ask a woman to marry them.

7 Common Lies Men Tell

Both sexes tell lies, we all know that. Little white lies, outrageous lies, compulsive lies… the list is endless. I once experienced a guy who told me so many lies that I called him out on them. I told him that he should be a writer because his talent at compulsive lying was amazing! He shouldn’t let it waste.
Back to the subject at hand… People tell lies for different reasons. A study by psychologist Bella M. DePaulo of the university of Virginia discovered that when women lie, they do so to make someone feel better, while men lie in order to massage their ego, to build themselves up or to hide something. Below are some of the lies men tell women we all need to know.

Readers Mail: How do you know when a guy is not right for you?

I've read most of your posts and find all the advice quite useful. However, there is one issue I still can’t seem to wrap my head around. How do you KNOW when the guy is not right for you? In one your posts you said we should dump a guy if he isn’t meeting our needs and although I agree 100%, how do we know that it isn’t partly our fault he isn’t?

Here’s my story in brief. I met a wonderful, kind, ethical, generous, loving, honest, attractive man. We had chemistry. Nothing crazy, but it felt nice and comfortable. At the beginning he did all those little things. Texts to say he was thinking of me. Calling me a pet name, calls me at least thrice a day. He took his time with sex and made me feel like I was the center of the universe. He was never really a talkative guy (except about himself) and didn’t really ask me any questions, but we would at least sit and have chats at the beginning. I was always concerned about the amount of emotional intimacy he was capable of having.
