In the Fairytales, the man and woman live happily ever after. Why is it that in real life, many marriages end in divorce? Various reasons are responsible for this. It is important that we know a few tips on how to live happily ever after in relative peace with one’s spouse, so that we can live longer in good health.

Devote time to your spouse.
Regular couples’ time is very important. Do try to keep the flame burning in your heart by spending intimate time with your spouse. Do fun activities together, such as staying indoors and singing along to your favorite pieces of music or watching a movie.

Pay attention when your spouse talks to you.
Breakdown in communication is one of the major reasons for divorce. When your partner is talking, listen! It will make him/her feel loved and appreciated. Resist the urge to interrupt or tune out in the middle of a conversation.

Be nice!
It might seem obvious, but many couples treat each other with contempt. Make the effort to request for whatever you want from your spouse in a calm, nice tone of voice. If your spouse didn’t respond satisfactorily, make your request more emphatically, but still in a nice tone of voice.

Fight fair.
This is very important. You need to avoid all forms of name-calling and insults whenever you and your spouse disagree. Words can hurt deeply and the memory lingers long after the event has passed.

Don’t neglect your sex life.
Sex is very important in a marriage. Low sex drive on the part of one of the partners can make the other party feel rejected and undesirable. Try to improve on your sex drive so that you have it as often as the other partner wants.

It is not so hard to live happily ever after a marriage. Love is a learned behavior and everyone is capable of treating their spouses in a way that will make them live happily ever after.
