Expectations of a Married Man.

So, you are now a husband. Congratulations! He that findeth a wife findeth a good thing, so the saying goes. As a man, you might be wondering how best to make your wife happy and treat her like the treasure that she is. Here are a few suggestions on what to do.

Treat your wife with respect.
It is important to treat your wife with respect, no matter how docile and submissive she may be. This is because treating her with respect will definitely endear her to you. If you say you are going to do something for her, stick to your word. Don’t back out at the very last minute.

Always speak the truth.
Get into the habit of speaking the truth and not withholding anything your wife wants to know. Tell her your whereabouts, your dreams, motivations, goals and aspirations. This makes for a great husband and a great marriage.

Be faithful to her.
It might seem obvious, but some men do not know that this is one of the expectations of a married man. When you married her, your wife expects you to be sexually faithful to her and not cheat on her. If you are no longer in love with your wife, rather than cheat on her, the honourable thing to do is to seek either marriage counselling.

Endeavour to build a strong bond with your in-laws.
It will make your wife very happy if she sees that you regard her parents and siblings as highly as she does. Even if you don’t get to see them often, do try to be kind and caring towards them.

Appreciate Her
Learn to say Thank You for everything she’s doing for the household. She’s not a maid. Learn to say Sorry/I’m Sorry, Please drop your man Ego and apologize when you hurt her. It goes a long way. Learn to please, if you want her to do something for you or the household don’t just order that woman around. Appreciation is key!

It is not so hard to be a happily married man. One can be a great husband and lover to his wife with these tips outlined above.

    Yes, I suppose so but it doesn't happen like that anymore. From experience,almost everything is divided with the woman nowadays. Most Nigerian young guys won't commit to a woman just because they think the responsibility will be too much. I might write on this later.
